State of California Flag

Allied Steel Buildings has been the number one provider of pre-engineered steel building solutions and building services in California for over a decade.

California has one of the largest economies in the world, and we are very proud to have helped so many businesses become a success. Our buildings meet California code requirement, have double bolted girts and entryways that are reinforced with joints. Ventilation can get in, but moisture stays out, including summer rain, snow loads, and desert winds. Unlike conventional building materials, steel is designed to move with seismic forces in the event of an earthquake. Our insulated panels meet LEED environmental design, are sustainable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective. Some of our customers include Siskiyou Family YMCA, Van Fleet Trucking, Granada Hill Charter High School, Long Dream Farm, Fain Drilling & Pump Company and many more.

Roof Cladding/Sheeting

Exterior metal panels attached to roof purlins, available in different gauges, colors and profiles.

Valley

Roof condition created by the intersection of the lower part of two roof planes. A hip is created by the intersection of the higher part of two roof planes.

End Wall Girt

Light gauge steel wall member that supports the wall system and horizontally spans between columns along the ends of the building.

X-Bracing

Structural members used to resist lateral forces perpendicular to rigid frames, transmitting them to the foundation. Typically, these are steel rods or angles installed in "X" configurations and found in the roof and walls.

Wall Cladding/Sheeting

Exterior metal panels attached to wall girts, available in different gauges, colors and profiles.

Rake (Gable) Trim

Metal trim piece along the rake of the roof, providing a covering at the end of the roof panel system.

Endwall Frame

Structural steel frame, consisting of columns and rafters located at the endwalls. Supports the girts and beams, and helps to transfer wind loads to the foundation.

Portal frame

Steel frame placed perpendicular to rigid frames along sidewalls for resisting lateral forces. Typically used to allow for openings in the wall.

Eave Strut

Horizontal structural member located at the eave that serves as a strut and as a juncture member for the roof and wall. These are typically cee shaped and made from cold formed steel.

Framed Opening

An opening framed by header, jamb and sill members for the placement of doors, windows, louvers or other accessory. Members consist of light gauge metal or hot rolled steel.

Purlin

Light gauge steel roof member that supports the roof system and horizonally spans between support rafters or beams.

Sidewall Girt

Light gauge steel wall member that supports the wall system and horizontally spans between columns along the sides of the building.

Rigid Frame

Primary structural steel members made from vertical columns and sloped rafters having rigid connections.

Ridge Cap

Metal trim piece along the ridge of the roof, providing a covering for the top ends of the roof panel system.

Mezzanine Joists

Structural floor system support members made from steel open web joists, steel beams or light gauge members.

Mezzanine Floor Decking

Steel decking typically supporting concrete in a floor system.

Multiple Span Columns

Gable frame, uniform depth columns, uniform or variable depth rafters, supported by columns, with ridge at center line.

When building in California, you’ll have several extreme weather events and natural disasters like long dry periods, heat waves, earthquakes, fires, and flooding to keep in mind. Steel structures can absorb the impact from these extreme weather conditions, they are built to last. Moreover, metal buildings are particularly resilient in earthquakes because of their typically low height and light weight designs. That is why steel structures are popularly used for warehousing, storage-facilities, and office buildings. With metal buildings, several industries can develop robust and affordable buildings for big businesses, Napa Valley vineyards, aircraft hangars, industrial workspaces, and industrial complexes. Steel structures have a history of good performance in earthquakes and are considered one of the safest materials to build with in earthquake-prone regions. It is a bonus too, that steel structures can be constructed and put up fast. Building with pre-fabricated steel building systems will give you an advantage in saving time and money, while building something that will last!
